It’s always fun to work with new models and help them build out their portfolio and comp cards. Jenae is one of those models. We only had about an hour to work downtown…we’ll continue the shoot on another day. You know Denver, rains every afternoon. Anyway, look out for her, very runway look and great lines. We’ve gotten quite a few model shot requests lately. Everyone needs a new comp card for the summer season. It’s picked up quite a bit more than normal for some reason this year. Princess Yana

Helen found us early on and we built out her model portfolio for her. A year and a half ago, Helen put her model career on hold to have a baby girl, Yana!. We shoot Helen’s maternity pictures, Yana’s baby pictures and now we’ve added her 6 month pictures. She has such big, beautiful eyes, we couldn’t resist. Anyway, PG rated material to follow. Devon is a repeat client. We wanted to help her create a more marketable catalog look for her portfolio. To say she looked amazing is an understatement. We’ve been focusing so much on our seniors we haven’t been publishing much on our Images site. But we’ve had quite a few modeling shoots and other shoots to catch up on. Jessie, one of our early models just signed with a top agency in town. She needed to update her portfolio with some more current fashion images. So last Saturday, while Claudia was shooting one of our many senior shoots during the day, I peeled off and worked with Jessie downtown. It was a lot of fun to get a little more cutting edge and play with some new looks and styles. Jessie’s usually up for trying out any new hair brained idea I might have. Here’s the result:

“Urban Babies” Denver

If you’ve never been to meetup.com, you’re missing out. They’ve got tons of interest groups that schedule local meetups with people of similar interests. We got introduced to Urban Babies through a prospect we were looking to shoot some advertising style work for. We worked to set up an all day shoot at to take advantage of the colors and with Claudia, myself and our intrepid assistant Jason, we set out for our all day adventure. Here’s just a few of the photos we took. The people of this group were just amazing, all warm, friendly families and the best group of toddlers and babies. A little Starbucks Chai tea warmed us right up. This was just a blast! Thanks everyone.

The Urban Toddler

Man I love these kind of shoots! Downtown Denver has such a great feel to it and fantastic photo locations. We met up with Quinlan and his family down there on all days, the Scott Kelby Photowalk. We were surrounded by photographers, taking pictures of us taking pictures . We’ve shot Quinlan twice now, it’s amazing how much they change in just 6 months. He started out a little slow, but picked up steam as the day went on. I think we got some great new looks and captured a little bit of Q’s personality on the way.

We finally got some urban senior shoots this year. I think I actually prefer these to the more standard leaves, trees and outdoors . We actually managed to find some nature along the Platte river. Tivonne was a natural, such a beautiful smile…perfect teeth. I’m surprised she wasn’t one of our models when she walked in.

This has been a great senior season. We’ve had some pretty incredible students in for their shoots. They seem so much more mature and composed than when we were kids. It’s often hard to believe they are just graduating high school. We had more than our fair share of late photos this year, don’t wait so long next year seniors! We had to turn a few away.
